Sketchbook Drawing-MP1
I chose these sketchbook pages because I though they popped out in a way. I liked how the hand in the background created a story behind the artwork. I use watercolors to create this image and my hand. In order to get the hands, I put watercolor on my hand and pressed my hand onto the pages. My page as I stated, has a story behind it. I tried to make it almost a deadly scene with the hands struggling to escape whatever is after them. There is supposed to be blood on the hands and one hand it more defined than the other to show how the other is getting pulled away. These pages stood out because they had a certain mood to them that I thought was interesting. I did try a new technique on these pages. I took the water color and let it drip of the paintbrush onto the paper to make it look like a bloody effect. I believe others would say this piece of artwork is creepy and scary. I believe the same. However it does have a story behind it that I guess could turn out good or bad.

I choose to highlight this page because I liked the colors and design I did. In order to create this image I used oil pastels, sharpie and pencil. My page is about looking at things as a whole not just one part. Everything comes together to make the piece of artwork not just the eyes or the colors. This page stands out above other pages from the current nine weeks because it has an affect on you when you look at it and the colors used make it pop. This page communicates to others because you feel like the eyes are looking at you for a reason. You feel like they are trying to tell you something. I think other people would say the work is scary but interesting in a way. I do see improvements from my first nine weeks to my second. Particularly in creativity and design.
